Our Policy on Plan Downgrades and Refunds

This article explains our policy for when a student chooses to downgrade their subscription plan (e.g., moving from Pro to Essentials). As outlined in our Terms of Service, downgrades are processed at the end of your current billing cycle, and we do not offer prorated refunds for the remainder of that cycle.


How Plan Downgrades Are Processed

When you request to downgrade your plan, you will continue to have full access to all the features of your current, higher-tier plan until the very end of your paid billing period. The new, downgraded plan will take effect on the first day of the next billing cycle.

Example Scenario:

  • May 1st: Your billing cycle begins, and you are charged for the Pro plan.

  • May 4th: You submit a request to downgrade to the Essentials plan.

  • May 1st - May 28th: You continue to enjoy all the benefits of your Pro plan, including access to homework, direct teacher messaging, and your monthly reschedule allowance.

  • May 29th (Next Billing Cycle): Your plan officially changes. You will be billed at the lower Essentials plan rate, and your plan's features will be adjusted accordingly.


Important Consequences of Downgrading

It is crucial to understand what changes when you move to a lower-tier plan like Essentials or Simple. Downgrading your plan will result in the loss of access to key academic and convenience features, including:

  • Homework and Graded Assignments: Access to the homework and assessment features will be removed.

  • Lesson Recordings: Access to past and future lesson recordings will be discontinued.

  • Direct Teacher Communication: The ability to message your teacher directly via Google Chat will be removed. All communication will be handled through our central support team.

  • Rescheduling Allowances: Your number of available lesson reschedules per month will be reduced or eliminated.

  • Potential Teacher Change: In some cases, a plan downgrade may require a change of teacher to align with the new plan structure.
